The Parque Rojo area is full of things to do, I recommend walking around during light hours and visit some of the nearby coffee shops and restaurants.

Ana Paula Ramirez: One I love ❤️ and has more than 50 years running now is the Bombilla churros

It is just in front of the Hostel along Lopez Cotilla crossing the street and on the left of parque rojo

You may visit also the ex convento del carmen, which features a free concert every Tuesday at 7:30 pm.

There you can see some art expos very often, and a library. In front of it there is a nice coffee shop and a church where you can seat and be outside watching the passers by.

Also in the area you may visit el expiatorio temple is another nice church we have with its stained glass art, and a beautiful plaza to buy handicrafts and get coffee tamales and other snacks, specially on Sundays is crowded and at 7 pm you can see the danzón group having a blast.

And of course! You need to visit The city Center, el hospicio cabañas (a unesco world wide heritage), and the Corona and San Juan de Dios (libertad) market is super fun to buy Mexican curious things and the building is a jewel made by the architect Alejandro Zohn.

We have many modern places too, like andares shopping mall or midtown

And delicious restaurants too, very typical ones are the cenadurias we have many around the hostel like the cenaduria de día near the museum of art and the Cineforo which is in Juarez and Pedro Moreno and is the university movie theater with great movies 🎥at affordable prices;

Or more popular/commercial ones like la gorda and la chata (franchises) which are in the city center or las flautas;

and we do have more contemporary and a bit pricy but delicious restaurants like Alcalde and Xokol or tikuun comedor local

In case you need anything or any recommendations please let us know we love to help and recommend 😉

Enjoy Guadalajara! And have a quick scape to Tequila, Tlaquepaque, Tonala or Chapala! They are close by and amazing each!
